Supporting the Hauraki Plains community
The Townshend-Thomas Charitable Community Trust provides funding for projects and initiatives that benefit the Hauraki Plains community.
We support community organisations, local events, education, health and wellbeing programmes, grassroots sport, and economic development initiatives across the district.
Our funding is focused on five areas: community, economic development, education, health and sport. If your project will make a positive difference in the Hauraki Plains, we’d love to hear from you.
Our story
Built on local roots
The Trust was established in 2017 by Mark and Diane Townshend, bringing together two families with long connections to the Hauraki Plains: the Townshends and the Thomases.
Named after Mark’s grandparents Charles and Margaret Townshend, Jack and Jess Thomas, and his parents Gray and Marie Townshend, the Trust reflects a long-standing connection to the district and its people.
Today, the Trust supports local people, groups and projects that contribute to the Hauraki Plains community.
